To be called an Alkaline diet the intake must be at least 75% Alkaline. For the seriously ill the diet should be at least 90% Alkaline. Acidic foods should not be completely avoided. They should be used minimally. Acidic foods are to the immune system what excercise is to the human body. Two factors usually present with disease are Acidic Body and Lack of Oxygen.
For the average person a diet 75% alkaline should promote good health. For someone in poor health, a diet close to 100% alkaline should produce good results. This ratio would certainly be recommended for cancer patients.
An alkaline pH (PH is a measurement of the body's Alkaline-Acidic makeup). An Alkaline PH can not only protect the body against cancer, but can even help to cure it once it has developed. Cancer cells and tumors thrive and grow in a more acidic environment. When the level of acid is lowered, tumors grow much more slowly. Cancer cells in the body are detrimentally affected by an overall alkaline environment. By eating mostly foods that make the body’s pH more alkaline, there would be less of a chance for cancer cells to develop and grow. So, by adjusting the diet, it is actually possible to create a less hospitable environment for cancer cells, thus improving a person’s chances of experiencing good health.
